Due to the wind speeds, the Snow's Cut Bridge in Carolina Beach will be closing at 2:30 pm. Per the town’s emergency declaration, the town will be implementing a curfew throughout the town. Kure Beach Police officers will be informing citizens to return to their properties during the curfew. Emergency personnel (Police, Fire, Building Inspections and Public Works) will continue to respond to issues throughout the town as long as it is safe to do so. Public Works continues to ensure that storm water drains remain clear and are monitoring problem areas. A large part of the town is without power and will most likely be without power until the storm has passed by our area. Please be careful with candles and any cooking utilizing propane or charcoal grills. The town expects to continue to have tropical storm force winds throughout the evening and into the early hours of Sunday. Be safe.
