April 22, 2014 09:13

Update to News Item posted on 4/17/14:

Starting 4/22/14, and continuing over the following three to five business days, there will be a large bulldozer on the beach scraping sand up from the high tide mark to the dune line in an effort to rebuild some of the dunes that were damaged/destroyed following the winter storm on March 6th and 7th. This action is pursuant of Council’s wishes, and a contract was signed by Mayor Lambeth and entered into on April 15th with Maritech, LLC, of Wilmington NC. The project limits will be from 430 to 906 North Fort Fisher Boulevard and will consist of 1,000 linear feet of beach bulldozing. The Town's building inspector, John Batson, will be on site for most of the project and is available for any comments or concerns the public may have: 910-458-6535.
