The Cape Fear Council of Governments, as the lead agency for the Cape Fear Regional Bicycle Plan, is excited to announce that the regional bicycle planning process is underway. The project is funded by NCDOT and Alta Planning & Design is leading the planning process. The project study area covers Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, and Pender Counties and southern Bladen, western Onslow, and southern Sampson Counties. The project will focus on bicycle transportation and connectivity to communities, parks, and other destinations in the region. The overall goal of the project is to provide a framework for NCDOT and local governments to enhance bicycling as a mode of transportation for residents and visitors alike, improving access, connectivity, and safety.
