COMMUNITY CENTER COMMITTEE
Meetings: 1st Tuesday of each month, 10:00am at the Community Center.
Purpose: The Community Center Committee promotes and oversees the use of the Kure Beach Community Center Building. This includes the several activities which take place weekly or monthly. The Committee operates under an annual budget for expenditures on operations and maintenance and endeavors to balance the budget with revenues from fundraisers and donations plus some support from the Town of Kure Beach in covering utilities, building improvements and a portion of revenues. The Committee is also responsible for handling rentals of the Center for private affairs and for conducting the Community Spirit Awards Program each year. The Committee recommends to Council policies and procedures which shall promote and encourage the use of the Community Center building for the public enjoyment and benefit. The Committee keeps the Council and public informed through a monthly report and updates to the Town’s website.
Organization: 9 members shall be permanent residents; staggered 2-year terms; equal voting powers.
