Community Center Annual Activities

SPIRIT AWARD BANQUET

This event, held every March, is to honor the spirit of our community’s dedicated volunteers. Residents are encouraged to submit nominations for their favorite community volunteers. A Lifetime Achievement Award and an Annual Award are given out during the ceremony portion of the banquet. This is a great time for our residents to come and show their support for those dedicated men and women who give their “all” for our community.

SUMMER BARBECUE

This event, held every August, features a delicious menu of Eastern North Carolina pulled-pork barbecue, cole slaw, baked beans, buttered-parsley potatoes, a roll, tea or coffee and your choice of a homemade dessert. This is just a plain ol’, good time to come and have some great food and conversation with neighbors, relatives, visitors and friends. If you don't have time to chat, the volunteers will box up a dinner for you to take home.
