Welcome to the Finance Department for the Town of Kure Beach!


The Finance Department is responsible for recording all monetary transactions of the Town.

Finance Department duties include:

  • Administering financial polices and procedures
  • Managing Town funds and investments
  • Maintaining complete records of all financial transactions
  • Budgetary and financial reporting
  • Accounts payable
  • Payroll
  • Property & Liability insurance administration
  • Utility account management, utility billing and collection
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Oversight of Purchase Order System

Property taxes are levied on real property, personal property (automobiles, boats, trailers, etc.) and business personal property. The assessed value of property is established by the New Hanover County Tax Assessor’s office. The Town’s current tax rate is .135 per $100.00 of valuation. Town taxes are billed and collected by New Hanover County along with the county portion of the property tax.
