VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Kure Beach Fire Department was founded in 1947 and is located behind Kure Beach Town Hall. It is made up of 3 paid positions and 25 volunteers. Our equipment currently consists of 2 pumpers, 1 mini-pumper, 1 service truck and a number of ATV’s and small 4-wheel drive vehicles. The responsibilities of the Fire Department are:

  • Providing fire suppression and prevention
  • Assisting Emergency Medical Services
  • Operating a fully-equipped Ocean Rescue team
  • Supervising the Town’s lifeguard staff

Our Mission

To assist the public in the protection of life and property by minimizing the impact of fire, medical emergencies, water accidents, and potential disasters, both man-made and environmental.
