Duke Energy is continuing to monitor Hurricane Matthew's track.  The main impacts from the hurricane on the Carolinas Service Area will be tonight (Friday) through Saturday.  Eastern SC and Eastern NC will receive heavy rain along with strong, gusty winds.  Power outages are expected across eastern North Carolina. Line technicians, service and tree crews and other personnel are getting prepared throughout their service area to respond to the outages.

Duke continues to reach out to its customers. Emails are being sent to customers reminding them to be prepared.  Out bound calls have been made to customers who are identified as Medical Alert customers. At www.duke-energy.com/outages, you can access outage maps and other information online from a computer or mobile device. Once on the map, you can zoom into a specific location and message box will appear showing total customers affected, status and an estimated time of restoration, if available.
