KURE BEACH STREET FESTIVAL POSTPONED

The Town of Kure Beach Street Festival Committee appreciates all the support received in past years from patrons and sponsors; however, it is their recommendation based on feedback from vendors and sponsors that the street festival be postponed until next year when the Ocean Front Park site is available.

 

BUS TRIP TO BROOKGREEN GARDENS

Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC, has been booked for April 10, 2012 as the next bus trip to be offered by Kure Beach Parks & Recreation.  This is only an announcement; no tickets are available at this time. The plan is for the bus to leave Kure Beach at 8:30 am. After arriving at the gardens, the group will watch a brief movie before taking part in a special, private guided tour of the gardens. Afterwards, you’re on your own to get lunch at one of the restaurants on the premises and explore other parts of this massive historic landmark which includes walking trails, a zoo, an arboretum, a museum, a gift shop and so on. The bus will leave at 4:00 pm to return to Kure Beach. The price of admission to the gardens, the guided tour, the bus trip and driver tip comes to a total of $32 per person. At the time you book your trip, you can also pay an extra $7 to be booked on a 45-minute Creek Cruise. This pontoon boat ride begins at 3:00 pm and takes you along abandoned rice fields to view the beautiful scenery and wildlife on a tributary of the Waccamaw River. Mark your calendars to save the date, as this is a trip you won’t want to miss. The gardens should be beautiful in April! We’ll announce when the tickets are available, sometime in February.

 

2012 VEHICLE DECALS

ON SALE NOW!

The 2012 vehicle decals are now on sale at Town Hall. Decals are $5 per registered vehicle. Please don’t forget to bring your vehicle registration with you when you come to purchase your decal. It is a Town ordinance that all full-time residents (homeowners and renters) purchase a decal by March 31st of each year. If you wait until April 1st, you’ll have to pay an additional $10 penalty/late fee.  Click below for instructions on requesting a decal via mail.
