On Tuesday, January 29th, from 3-5pm, the Kure Beach Storm Water Committee and the Education Department at Ft. Fisher Aquarium will hold a session for residents and those companies that landscape and service the yards and grounds in Kure Beach. The purpose of this gathering is to explore environmentally sound practices to care for our lawns and gardens. This is crucial not only during times of water shortage and water conservation, but always! Our goal is to make our pathways to the River and the Ocean as pollution free as possible and to save water in the process. A rain barrel will be on display and forms will be available to place an order. Registration is mandatory for free admission to the aquarium and to attend the presentation in the auditorium. Call Karen Vatrt at 458-2657 or email her at kdv214@hotmail.com to register.
