The Planning and Zoning Commission (PZ) and the Town Council held a joint worksession October 2, 2012 to discuss the possibility of allowing mixed use (commercial and residential) on the K Avenue Corridor, which is defined as those properties abutting K Ave. from 3rd to 7th Ave. The Town's Land Use Plan identifies this area as a future commercial center for the Town.
Three different zones in the area allow for a mixture of one/two/multi family dwellings, professional/home office (doctor, lawyer, engineer, dress making, music teaching), place of worship, art gallery, school, etc. Mixed use would add uses such as retail shops, small cafes, etc. Council directed PZ to continue to pursue mixed use using a conditional use permit process. PZ will be discussing this more at the November 7th meeting at 7 pm at Town Hall. Interested persons are encouraged to attend.
