The 5-year management plan for the North Carolina National Estuarine Research Reserve (NCNERR) is being updated and the public is encouraged to attend one of three public meetings that will inform the plan.
The public meetings are an opportunity for members of the local community to learn about the purpose of the Reserve and the management plan update, and to provide comments through structured small group conversations on current and emerging topics, program implementation (research, education, training, and stewardship), and community involvement. There will also be an opportunity to provide general comments at the end of the meetings.
The four sites managed within the NCNERR are Currituck Banks, Rachel Carson, Zeke's Island, and Masonboro Island Reserves. The updated management plan will cover 2016-2021.
