Department of Motor Vehicles (Licensing & Registration)
Whether you’re getting your driver’s license switched over to a North Carolina license, or you’re registering your vehicle in North Carolina for the first time, you’ll want to access the Department of Motor Vehicles
website at www.ncdot.org/dmv/ to find out what information you’ll need to take with you. The DMV requires that you pass an exam before obtaining your driver’s license, so you’ll need to pick up a booklet
from the DMV to study. The closest DMV to Kure Beach is located at the South Square Plaza in Wilmington: 2390 Carolina Beach Road, Suite 108. They are open Monday through Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm. For more information, call 910-763-6752.

Come to or call Kure Beach Town Hall at 910-458-8216 and ask for Pat Fortier. She will need your property address and $80 for your Garbage Cart. We only accept cash or a check made payable to Town of Kure Beach. No credit cards, please.
NOTE: Garbage is collected every Monday for all properties south of K Avenue and is collected every Tuesday for all properties north of K Avenue. Town ordinance specifies that your Garbage Cart should be placed in front of your premises only after sunset on the day prior to pickup and must be returned to your home by midnight on the day of pickup.
Holiday Garbage Collection & Christmas Trees
Please note that there will be NO special trash pick-up during Christmas week. Christmas trees will be picked up throughout the first
2 weeks after New Year’s Day. Please put your discarded Christmas trees on your curb/property line for pick-up during that time.
Anytime the sanitation division is off for a Monday Holiday, garbage collection is pushed back one day (Monday collection on Tuesday,
Tuesday collection on Wednesday). The following Monday Holidays are observed by the Town: President’s Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Please check the News area of our homepage during other Holidays for future collection notifications.

Recycling Service
Waste Management is responsible for collecting your recyclables. Come to the Kure Beach Town Hall to pick up your recycle
bin and the collection calendar. Generally, recycle pickup is every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month, with the exception of
holidays. You can place your bin on the curb after sunset the day before pickup, but you must return your bin to your property
by midnight of the day of pickup. There is a large recycle dumpster located at Joe Eakes Park on 7th & K Avenues, if you have
an extra amount of recyclables or if you will not be in town to put your container out for pickup. If the recycle dumpster at
the park is full, DO NOT LEAVE your recyclables on the ground next to the dumpster. Waste Management will only pick up items
inside of the dumpster. Call Waste Management at 799-5256 for additional information or to report an uncollected bin. For more
recycling information and drop-off location information go to
