Atlantic Avenue Walkway Dedication
By the ocean and under beautiful sunny skies today in Kure Beach, the Atlantic Avenue Walkway was dedicated in memory of former commissioner Bill Ufferman. Over 60 residents and officials attended the dedication where they viewed the new walkway and the dedication plaque. Residents and officials met with Mrs. Carol Ufferman and her two sons, Doug and Andy. The family heard from officials of how Bill started the Town's Beautification Committee and had a vision of one day constructing a walkway along Atlantic Avenue which would beautify the area and give pedestrians a view of the Atlantic Ocean. For more information about the Atlantic Avenue Walkway, contact the Town at 458.8216.
