2011 KURE BEACH STREET FESTIVAL
WRAP-UP, KUDOS AND PHOTOS
Last year, our annual street festival was held on Saturday, April 30 at Kure Beach's Joe Eakes Park. The Joe Eakes Park venue was used to make way for construction along Atlantic Avenue where the festival is normally held. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Kure Beach Public Works crew, the park was a great place to be this year. Beautiful weather, a wide variety of arts, crafts, food and beverages, and a lot of hard work by our paid and volunteer staff helped festival goers have a great time. Besides a great assortment of cars on display at our car show, the bands provided wonderful entertainment, and all of the kids in the Kure Beach Parks & Recreation Dance class gave an amazing performance. As always, the children had fun in our kids play area with the bounce castles and slides and many went home with balloon figures sculpted by Gracie the Clown.
