In February, notice was given on the Town's website that the Department of Transportation (DOT) would begin prep work for paving on Fort Fisher Boulevard from E Avenue in Kure Beach to Tennessee Avenue along South Lake Park Boulevard in Carolina Beach. UPDATE: Work began in earnest on Monday, March 9th. Cars should not be parked along Fort Fisher Boulevard from now until the work is complete. This will allow the DOT workers to have easy access to the road with their stripping and paving equipment. The paving is expected to be completed sometime before the beginning of Memorial Day weekend. Please use Dow Road as an alternate route as much as possible to avoid delays. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you (excuse our dust), but we're looking forward to having a beautifully paved boulevard once everything is complete.
