CURRENT FULL-TIME RESIDENTS
According to Town ordinances, each owner of a motor vehicle that has a current NC license plate and resides within the Town full-time must pay a vehicle tax by March 31st to obtain a decal for each vehicle. If you do not pay your vehicle tax by that time, a penalty fee will be added to the tax.
NEW FULL-TIME RESIDENTS
After you've arrived in Kure Beach to settle into your new home, please come to Town Hall to pay your vehicle tax and obtain a decal. If you arrive after March 31st, you will not need to pay the penalty. However, in subsequent calendar years, you must pay your tax by March 31st to avoid paying the penalty fee.
CURRENT NON-RESIDENT PROPERTY OWNERS (OPTIONAL)
Because you aren't a full-time resident, you are not required to pay a vehicle tax in Kure Beach. However, you may still want to obtain a vehicle decal by paying the tax. In the event of an evacuation, vehicle decals help law enforcement identify property owners for access onto the island.
