Visitor Information

Kure (pronounced CURE-ee) Beach is situated on an island between Carolina Beach and Fort Fisher; the island is popularly referred to as "Pleasure Island." Kure Beach has eight public beach accesses that allow free parking right at the point of entry to the dune crossovers. Additionally, there is ample free parking in our downtown area so that you can be right in the heart of the action. Park & walk to one of our many restaurants offering mouth-watering fare; scout out a great mom-and-pop hotel in which to spend the night (because we know you’ll want to stay for more than a day) and pick up some souvenirs at one of our shops. Did you know that the Kure Beach Fishing Pier is the OLDEST fishing pier on the Eastern Coastline? It's located right in the middle of our business district, adjacent to our beautiful Ocean Front Park. If you don't plan on fishing off the pier you can walk on it for FREE, or you can sit and relax on one of our swings or benches situated along our boardwalk and in the park; just another reason why our town is so special! Visit our "About Kure Beach" web pages to read about the town's history and find out other interesting facts about Kure Beach.
