Restored to the majority of the Town at 11:44 am. Contact Duke power with any outages to be managed by their normal process.
STATE OF EMERGENCY
Town of Kure Beach is rescinding its State of Emergency at 5:00 pm today.
Normal operations of Town Hall will resume on Monday, September at 9:00 am.
YARD pickup will commence on Monday following normal trash pickup. When cleaning up and putting pickup to the curb - note that yard debris is REQUIRED to be separate from any demolition or other miscellaneous debris - by FEMA (for possible reimbursement) and the LANDFILL. DO not mix yard debris with any other type of debris when you are placing it for PICKUP.
YARD Debris is not allowed in your trash cans as it will be rejected by the LANDFILL.
All Public Beach accesses have been inspected and are open for use. Inspect any personal beach accesses prior to use to ensure they are safe.
DO NOT climb on the storm pipes on the beach that are exposed.
The Town was blessed in that this was only a Tropical Storm in Kure Beach and the Storm Surge occurred during low tide. Please keep the OUTER BANKS and the Bahamas in your thoughts as you review the choices that you made for you and your families safety. Also please thank our Employees and Volunteers who worked through the Labor Day Weekend and the storm to get us back to normal as fast as possible.
