IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR AND EMERGENCY MANAGER
Sunday September 1, 2019 at 3:00pm
The Town is closely tracking Hurricane Dorian. Town Leadership will be meeting with other leaders from New Hanover County and surrounding Towns/Municipalities regarding this storm on Monday morning at 9:30am. We will work with Emergency Management Leadership to determine the appropriate actions for the Town.
Following this meeting, Town Departments will be meeting with Council to discuss the Town’s preparations and actions. Town Citizens are encouraged to closely monitor the storm and to begin making preparations for a significant storm event that could begin affecting the Town as early as Wednesday morning.
You can help by making sure your yards are clear of any debris or items that could block drains following a large rain event. Make sure you have a plan for any event and pay attention to the weather forecasts and Town communications. Go to /notify-me.aspx to sign up for emergency alerts delivered via text and/or email from the Town.
The next update will be no later than 4 pm Monday afternoon - earlier if warranted by conditions.
Mayor Craig Bloszinsky and Mayor Pro Tem and Emergency Manager David Heglar
