Once again, the New Hanover County Board of Elections is in need of poll workers for their 43 precincts. They expect a record turn-out of voters during the November 8th Presidential/General Election. Working as a poll worker is a great way for citizens to get involved and see the civic process in action. The board needs over 500 precinct officials to work during the election and, although they consider poll workers to be “volunteers,” North Carolina State Law requires that they compensate workers. This means that all precinct officials receive a minimum of $120, plus paid training opportunities. Anyone who would like more information may visit the board's website at nhcvote.com, or fill out the online application via the link below.
