PUBLIC NOTICE

TOWN HALL & PUBLIC WORKS CLOSED

PRESIDENTS' DAY -- MONDAY, 2/15/10

The garbage collection will be done on Tuesday instead of Monday and Tuesday's regular route will be done on Wednesday.

 

Garbage Pickup Change

Beginning Feb. 1st, garbage will be collected on Mondays rather than on Tuesdays on Fort Fisher Blvd North, Atlantic Ave and Spotters Court. Letters are being sent to all property owners being affected by this.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Adjustments will receive training and instruction provided by Chris May from the Cape Fear Council of Governments at their regular meeting on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 7:30 pm.

PUBLIC NOTICE

TOWN COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING

The Kure Beach Town Council will hold a Public Hearing to hear public comment on the suggested ordinance amendment to Sec. 19-321.5 of the code of ordinances.  The hearing will be held at the Kure Beach Town Hall on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 5:30 pm. The purpose of this meeting will be to elect a chair and vice chair, approve the annual report, approve the September 22, 2009, minutes, review the Rules of Procedure, review the member terms, appointment of an Alternate and any other administrative items the Board deems necessary.  Anyone having an interest in these matters is encouraged to attend.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Citizen Finance and Budget Advisory Committee

At their December 15th regular meeting, the Town Council approved the establishment of a Citizen Finance and Budget Advisory Committee.

 

The mission of the committee is to advise the citizens of Kure Beach and the Town Council on the annual Kure Beach budget and the financial health of the Town including future financial needs, the annual audit and the debt burden of the Town.

 

Qualifications for membership include a willingness to serve and an interest in public finance.  Experience in finance or accounting is desirable but not necessary.

The committee will consist of three to five members.

The committee will meet monthly from January to June and quarterly thereafter. The Town is currently accepting applications for this committee.

Stormwater & Environmental Committee

At their December 15th regular meeting, the Town Council approved amending the Stormwater Committees mission to include environmental awareness and environmental issues affecting Kure Beach.  The Town is currently accepting applications for this committee. 

 

The first meeting is tentatively scheduled for 5:00 pm on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Kure Beach Town Hall.

 

After the first meeting, the Stormwater & Environmental Committee’s regular monthly meeting will be the second Tuesday of the month at 5:00 pm.

 

The Town of Kure Beach is a member of the Cape Fear Arch Coalition.  This committee may be working with this coalition frequently.  If you would like to learn more about the Cape Fear Arch Coalition, go to www.capefeararch.org.
