The Kure Beach Fire Department was founded in 1947 and is located behind Kure Beach Town Hall. The department has 3 paid employees and 25 volunteers. Our equipment currently consists of 2 pumpers, 1 mini-pumper, 1 service truck and a number of ATV’s and small 4-wheel drive vehicles. The responsibilities of the Fire Department are to:
- Provide fire suppression and prevention
- Assist Emergency Medical Services
- Operate a fully-equipped Ocean Rescue team
- Supervise the Town’s lifeguard staff
