The Kure Beach Fire Department was founded in 1947 and is located behind Kure Beach Town Hall. The department has 15 paid employees and 27 volunteers. Our equipment currently consists of 2 pumpers, 1 mini-pumper, 1 service truck, 1 squad unit, and a number of ATV’s and small 4-wheel drive vehicles. The responsibilities of the Fire Department are to:
- Provide fire suppression and prevention
- Assist Emergency Medical Services
- Operate a fully-equipped Ocean Rescue team
- Supervise the Town’s lifeguard staff
To assist the public in the protection of life and property by minimizing the impact of fire, medical emergencies, water accidents, and potential disasters, both man-made and environmental.
