FILM ACTIVITY IN KURE BEACH STARTING WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17

Mervinator Production, INC. will be in Kure Beach starting Wednesday, April 17th for an upcoming film project. This project will bring impacts to the downtown area that include closure to select public parking spaces, select beach accesses, and pedestrian traffic control on the beach strand near the Pier.  

Parking

  • Closure of public parking on Atlantic Avenue between K and L Avenues on the following dates/times: Wednesday, April 17 - Friday, April 19, and Monday, April 22 from 7 AM - 7 PM; Tuesday, April 23 from 6 AM - Thursday, April 25 11 PM; Friday, April 26, and Monday, April 29 - Tuesday, April 30 from 7 AM - 7 PM
  • Closure of the public parking lot adjacent to the Community Center starting Tuesday, April 23 6 AM - Thursday, April 25 11 PM

Beach Strand and Beach Accesses

  • Closure of beach access #100 and #110 Tuesday, April 23 - Thursday, April 25
  • Pedestrian Traffic Control at beach access #120 and on beach strand near Kure Beach Pier during active filming Tuesday, April 23 - Thursday, April 25

Facilities

  • Rental of Kure Beach Community Center Tuesday, April 23 - Thursday, April 25

Other

The production has permission for the following activity:

  • Have dogs on the beach all day Tuesday, April 23 - Thursday, April 25 for creation of dog resort scene on beach strand
  • Use gas-powered fire pits on the beach on Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25
  • Place and leave equipment on the beach throughout the duration of their permitted time in Kure Beach (April 17 - April 30)
  • Drive ATVs with trailers on the beach throughout the duration of their permitted time in Kure Beach (April 17 - April 30)
