Important Update: Our roster is currently FULL and operating on the waitlist procedure
We are constantly seeking like-minded individuals to join our team and help serve the community. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Kure Beach Fire Department, our process is as follows:
Step 1 : Fill out an application and submit to the Fire Chief either via email at e.kennedy@townofkurebeach.org, or in person at the fire station.
Step 2: If there are vacancies, you will be invited to the next Monday Night Fire meeting. We hold fire meetings every Monday from 7pm-8:30pm. If we are full, your name will be added to the waiting list in the order that we receive your application. Our department is considered FULL when we reach 40 firefighters on the roster. As vacancies occur throughout the year, the next person in line on the waiting list will be called to attend the next Monday Night Fire meeting.
Step 3: Attend 4-6 Monday night fire meetings. This will allow you the opportunity to make sure that joining the department is the right fit for you, as well as give the department the opportunity to make sure you are the right fit for us.
Step 4: After 4-6 fire meetings, the department will vote on you becoming a member. If you become a member at this meeting, you will receive all of the required turnout gear and equipment in order to begin your role as a probationary firefighter.
