Programs & Events

The Community Center Committee occasionally holds events at the facility. Information on upcoming events will be posted below.

Crafts & Cookies: Lighted Globe Craft & Homemade Cookie Exchange

When: Sunday, December 4th, 1-4pm “Open House”

Where: Kure Beach Community Center

Cost: $5 plus canned goods for The Help Center of Federal Point if participating in the Lighted Globe construction. No charge if participating in only the Cookie Exchange.

Tis the Season—Join members of the Kure Beach Community Center Committee in a craft project and cookie exchange event that will spread holiday cheer throughout Town. Contact Town Hall at (910) 458-8216 or parks@tokb.org by November 28th with your name, phone number, and email to sign up. Payment and canned goods collected on site the day of the event. This is a great craft project for the whole family

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Lighted Globe: These lighted chicken wire globes are easy to construct and make a great addition to any holiday display. If you are going to participate, you will need to bring gloves and string lights (at least 100 lights per globe is recommended). Chicken wire will be provided.

Cookie Exchange: Bring homemade, ready to share samples of your favorite holiday cookie(s)! We recommend 3-6 cookies per package, bagged/wrapped and ready to share. Bring as many packages to share as you hope to bring home so that we can all enjoy a wide assortment of our neighbors’ favorite traditions. Although not required, a recipe to accompany the cookies would be an added bonus!
