Canine Division

Welcome to the Kure Beach Police Department Canine Division. Our department currently has one canine team. The canine handler must deal with a wide range of problems which tests the officer’s patience and knowledge as a Police Officer and a canine handler. When using their assigned canine, the officer is expected to use common sense and exceptional judgement.

Our police dog Kilo is conditioned to do the following: 

• Search for narcotics 
• Track criminals and search for missing people, etc.
• Article Searches
