Exploring Artificial Intelligence Together
The Kure Beach Community Center is pleased to announce the launch of the AI Roundtable (AIRT), a new monthly program designed to help residents explore and better understand the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence. The inaugural session, AI Basics, will be held on October 13 and led by Dr. Sohail Sukhera, Program Director for Artificial Intelligence at Cape Fear Community College. This introductory session will cover core concepts, common terminology, and the major functions of modern AI systems—providing a clear, accessible foundation for anyone curious about how these tools work.
The AI Roundtable will meet on the second Tuesday of each month and is open to all ages. Each session will blend straightforward explanations with real‑world examples and open discussion, with future topics ranging from AI in education to the economics behind today’s language models. The program is free, open to the public, and part of the Community Center’s ongoing commitment to offering high‑quality learning opportunities for Pleasure Island residents.
