The Kure Beach Fire Department and Ocean Rescue have removed all 10 lifeguard stands from the beach. Although we are no longer staffing lifeguard towers from 10am-5pm, we will have (2) lifeguards on patrol from 12pm-8pm until October 1st. If nice weather mixes with tropical ocean conditions throughout the month of October, we will staff the beach with patrol guards as well. We hope everyone had a great summer and urge you to use caution when entering the ocean over the next couple of months.
