The Kure Beach Community Center Committee is sponsoring a bird banding field demonstration at Carolina Beach State Park on Saturday, June 28th from 8:30-10:00AM. Birding experts will be banding Painted Buntings (if they can be found) in their nesting area near the marina. Plan to park in the parking lot north of the marina.
Following the field exercise, at 11:00AM, there will be a lecture on the painted buntings and the banding process at the Kure Beach Ocean Front Park Pavilion. All are welcome to join one or both of these free family fun events.
The Community Center Committee also host a Genealogy Interest Group on the 1st Thursday of the month at 1:00PM at the Kure Beach Community Center. Genealogy enthusiasts of all levels are welcome to join.
