Citizens of Kure Beach,
The Town is under a severe weather watch until early tomorrow morning and the National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for New Hanover County until 8 pm this evening. Current forecasts have the possibility of 75 mph winds later this afternoon into the evening as well as the possibility of large hail throughout the rest of the day.
Please ensure that all loose items on your property are secured including your garbage and recycling cans to ensure that debris does not end up in the street or clogging stormwater systems. Trash and Recycling Pickup scheduled for Tuesday will be delayed until Wednesday.
Town emergency services and Public Works will be monitoring the situation and will respond as needed to issues if they occur in the Town.
