UPDATE FROM THE EMERGENCY MANAGER

Good morning,

As TS Idalia leaves the area the following update for today:

Currently Duke Power is working on 2 downed power lines that are impacting power for all properties south of K Avenue. It should be repaired and power restored very soon, assuming no other issues. For any other power issues please go to Duke Power website to report individual outages by property. Please do not stop and talk with the Duke workers, it distracts them from what they are doing and the Town is in communication with them on issues.

Public Works worked through the night ensuring storm drains remained clear and no significant issues were noted regarding localized flooding.

Fire and Police reported no calls during the evening hours and were staffed appropriately for this event.

Town Hall will be open tomorrow for normal business hours and all departments are shifting their focus to the holiday weekend which looks like it will be good weather with the ocean still having some concerns. Please ensure that you and any guests are cautious in the water this weekend. While lifeguards will be on the beach, the ocean may still have lingering affects from Idalia and Franklin.
